J.P. Feyereisen Earns Save In Rays Debut Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen earned the save in his debut with the team on Sunday, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless inning of work. It was a good debut for Feyereisen, who was traded to the Rays on Friday in the deal that sent Willy Adames to the Brewers. However managers shouldn't get excited about his saves potential just yet, as Diego Castillo and Pete Fairbanks remain the top two in consideration for save opportunities. Castillo and Fairbanks had simply had heavy workloads over the past couple days, which is why Feyereisen got the call on Sunday. That being said, Feyereisen will likely be one of the go-to guys in the back half of the bullpen, and could figure to be a good option in SV/HLD formats going forward.
