Alex Verdugo Held Out Of Saturday's Lineup
4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo (hamstring) is being held out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Spencer Howard and the Philadelphia Phillies. The team is going with Danny Santana, Franchy Cordero and J.D. Martinez in the outfield. Verdugo was removed from Friday's game due to hamstring tightness. He was 3-for-3 in the game before Kike Hernandez came in to take over center field duties. The Red Sox didn't seem overly concerned about Verdugo's injury after Friday's game so he is likely being held out as a precaution on Saturday. He should be considered day-to-day.
