Pete Alonso Gets Night Off On Wednesday
3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso is getting the night off on Wednesday against the Braves. It appears to be a day of rest for Alonso, who has started every game for the Mets so far this season. Given the recent rash of injuries that have impacted the Mets' lineup, it's no surprise that the team will want to make sure to give one of their stars a day off to keep him healthy. Over 36 games this year, Alonso is slashing .236/.336/.433 with six home runs, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored. Dominic Smith will get the start at first for New York tonight and bat fourth in the lineup.
