4 years agoCleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday night's 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Ramirez has been a solid source of power as he is now tied for second in all of baseball with 12 home runs. He will likely be an MVP candidate once again in 2021 and fantasy players should be thrilled to have him on their rosters.--Kipp Heisterman - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoCleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez finished last year with 39 home runs, 39 doubles and 41 stolen bases in 158 games, leaving him just shy of the elusive 40-40-40 club, which only Alfonso Soriano in 2006 was able to pull off. Ramirez said he worked even hard this past offseason to try and reach that unique goal. The 32-year-old Dominican is already a six-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger award winner. He said he's the same weight now as he was at the end of the 2024 season -- he's listed at 5-foot-9, 200 pounds -- but he was strict with his intake and increased his muscle mass while trimming body fat over the winter. J-Ram has been as dependable, durable and productive as any hitter in recent seasons, and he's played 681 of a possible 708 games from 2020-24. He's gotten off to a strong start in 2025, too, hitting .294 (5-for-17) with a homer, two doubles and two RBI in five games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoCleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) looked perfectly fine at the plate in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Padres. Ramirez, who left Saturday's game with a wrist injury from an attempted stolen base, went 3-for-4 with a single, a double, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The 32-year-old got the Guardians on the board early, jumping on a first-inning Kyle Hart fastball and launching it into the left-field seats for his first long ball of the season. The performance was great from a fantasy production perspective, but more importantly, it showed that Ramirez is healthy and ready to go. Ramirez has been a consensus top fantasy pick for seasons and is a five-category contributor. It will be interesting to see how aggressive he is on the base paths early on after injuring his wrist while attempting to steal a base, but fantasy managers will gladly take any production while he is in their lineups.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoCleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) is back in the Guardians' lineup for Monday night's matchup against the San Diego Padres. Ramirez left Saturday's game with a wrist injury from stealing a base but has avoided serious injury and is ready to go. The 32-year-old will look to get his first hit of the year against Padres starter Kyle Hart, who has a 15.55 ERA in 11 IP. Fantasy managers and DFS managers alike should do all they can to get Ramirez in their lineup.--Kevin Larson - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoThe imaging on Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) all returned negative. Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reported that the 32-year-old could be available to pinch-hit on Sunday and "hopefully" return to the starting nine on Monday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears Ramirez avoided a significant injury. The third baseman was pulled from Saturday's contest after suffering a right wrist sprain when attempting to steal a base. Gabriel Arias shifted over to the hot corner on Sunday and will likely see most of the opportunities at that position if Ramirez were to miss more time. Fantasy managers should expect the Guardians to exercise caution with their superstar infielder, which could result in him being held out of the lineup occasionally. When healthy, he should be viewed as a must-start option in all formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
