Quinn Priester Shaking Off Slow Start At High-A
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Quinn Priester looked sharp on Tuesday when he held opposing batters to just three hits and no runs over five innings of work. He posted a K-BB of 4-1 and induced a healthy number of ground-ball outs in the process. Priester has improved with each start this season and now has a 4.50 ERA and 11-6 K-BB in three starts. The 18th overall pick in the 2019 draft earned a surprise invitation to spring training with the Pirates and has impressed the club since being selected out of the high school ranks. Just 20, Priester has an advanced approach for his age and could help expedite the Pirates' rebuilding process. He's an intriguing long-term prospect to monitor.
