Shane Burgos Suffers Second Straight Loss
4 years agoIn a wild main-card opener, Shane Burgos (13-3) felt the devastating striking power of Edson Barboza, suffering a knockout a little over one minute into the first round. After absorbing a big right hand, Burgos stood in the pocket ready to battle, but stammered backward after a delayed reaction from the striking, crashing to the mat after backing into the cage. Barboza pounced on top and finished the contest. Statistically, Burgos connected on 80 significant strikes, with neither fighter landing or attempting a takedown. Burgos has now taken two losses in a row in a couple of very tough outings.
