Corey Seager Will Not Require Surgery For Broken Hand
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (hand) broke the fifth metacarpal in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch on Saturday, but it is not believed he will require surgery, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Manager Dave Roberts said that the timeline for Seager's return is "vague," and in the meantime Gavin Lux is expected to be the primary replacement at shortstop. Seager is slashing .265/.361/.422 with four home runs, one steal, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored in 37 games. The Dodgers are expected to replace Seager's spot on the roster with catching prospect Keibert Ruiz, who is 6-for-20 with four doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in four games at Triple-A.
