Hansel Robles Notches First Save
4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Hansel Robles had his first save opportunity of the year and shut the door on the Athletics in a 5-4 win Saturday. Robles did surrender a hit but fanned two batters in the ninth inning, touching 98.1 MPH with his fastball at one point and generating three whiffs with the offering. The 30-year-old lowered his ERA and WHIP to 3.45 and 1.02, respectively, and could find himself with more save chances moving forward, especially if manager Rocco Baldelli doesn't feel confident enough in Taylor Rogers or Alex Colome. Robles is worth rostering even without save opportunities, given that he's picked up seven holds this season for Minnesota.
