J.T. Realmuto Returns To Lineup Friday Night
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (knee, illness) is back in the starting lineup on Friday night, as he will slot into the lineup as the designated hitter and bat fourth against the Blue Jays. Realmuto has not played since his early exit on Tuesday due to being hit in the knee by a foul ball, and afterwards was placed on the COVID-19 injured list as a precaution while he dealt with an unknown illness. It looks like the Phillies are taking advantage of the designated hitter slot to keep Realmuto's bat in the lineup, while giving him extra time for his knee to heal up before going back behind the plate.
