Albert Pujols Receiving Interest From Multiple Teams
3 years agoFree-agent first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols is receiving interest from three to four teams, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Pujols was released by the Angels earlier this month after slashing .198/.250/.372 with five home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs scored in 24 games this season. It will depend entirely on the team that he signs with and what his role will be, but it's possible that Pujols could still have some fantasy value left in the tank. Looking at his Statcast metrics, Pujols appears to have been unlucky at the plate, as he sports a .265 xBA, .347 xwOBA and .513 xSLG, which rank in the 65th, 63rd and 83rd percentiles, respectively. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should keep an eye on where Pujols might land, as he could become a sleeper pick off the waiver wire.
