Tyler Rogers Earns Third Save Of Season Thursday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers picked up his third save of the season in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Pirates. Rogers entered the game in the ninth inning up by two and allowed no runs on a single and no walks with no strikeouts. Manager Gabe Kapler was planning to give closer Jake McGee the day off, which is why Rogers saw the save opportunity, per Giants reporter Kerry Crowley. Rogers has been the Giants' go-to setup man this season and has pitched well, collecting 10 holds to go with a 0.83 ERA. Unfortunately, his' performance only translates to fantasy value in saves/hold leagues as long as he is not seeing consistent save opportunities.
