Josh Bell Homers In Win Thursday
3 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in a 5-1 win over the Phillies on Thursday afternoon. It was his fourth home run of the season, as he is now slashing .140/.202/.326 to open the year. While he has struggled considerably early on, he has started to show signs of life at the plate this month, as he is slashing .182/.206/.424 with two home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored through his first nine games of May. Managers shouldn't consider him an option for now outside of the deepest of NL-only leagues, but if he can continue to show improvement at the plate he could become a more viable option in the near future.
