Aroldis Chapman Remains Perfect In Save Chances
4 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman notched his ninth straight save of the season in Wednesday's victory over Tampa Bay. It was slightly concerning when Chapman came out for the ninth and wasn't throwing as hard- especially a night after he had to be checked on by the trainer- though he reared back and hit 100 MPH on the radar gun at one point in a 1-2-3 ninth. The veteran southpaw has been the most dominant closer in the game this season and has now pitched the most innings, 15, without allowing an earned run this season. Chapman won't be out there for a save chance on Thursday, given that he pitched Tuesday and Wednesday, though the night off will be well-earned.
