Cincinnati Reds outfielder Tyler Naquin went 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, and four RBI in a 14-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. Naquin launched a seventh-inning pitch over the fence for a three-run homer in the win. Overall, Naquin is hitting .278 with eight homers, 14 runs, 24 RBI, and two steals over 90 at-bats. He should continue to see ample playing time with Nick Senzel taking over at second base as a result of the team shuffling their infield after Joey Votto fractured his thumb. Naquin remains a starting-quality fantasy option in mixed leagues going forward.--Matt T - RotoBaller

The Milwaukee Brewers informed out-of-options infielder Keston Hiura and non-roster outfielder Tyler Naquin on Friday that they will not make the team's Opening Day roster out of spring training. Hiura was scratched from Friday's Cactus League game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Milwaukee will now attempt to trade him before Opening Day next Thursday. The 26-year-old will likely go on waivers if no team wants to trade for him. He has decent power but doesn't make enough contact and strikes out far too often to be a lineup regular for most teams. Naquin, 31, could choose to opt out of his minor-league deal in order to latch on with another team in 2023. However, his poor performance at the plate this spring probably doesn't have many teams looking his way.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyler Naquin (shoulder) is back in the Cactus League lineup on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox and right-handed starter Lance Lynn, starting in right field and batting fifth in the order. Naquin has missed a couple of games while dealing with minor shoulder discomfort, but he'll be back in the fold Tuesday. The 31-year-old has only played in three spring games to this point and has gone 2-for-8 with two doubles, one RBI and three strikeouts in nine plate appearances. He's hoping to win an Opening Day roster spot with Milwaukee after hitting a combined .229/.282/.423 with a .705 OPS, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 47 runs scored and four stolen bases in 105 games with the Reds and Mets in 2022. If he makes the Brewers roster, he'll have limited playing time against right-handers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Milwaukee Brewers have reportedly signed outfielder Tyler Naquin to a minor-league deal, per a tweet from The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Todd Rosiak on Tuesday. Also per Rosiak's tweet, the deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training. The outfielder appeared in 105 combined games for the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets last season, batting .229 with a .282 on-base percentage, 11 home runs and four stolen bases in 334 plate appearances. He'll provide the Brewers with some additional outfield depth this season. As of now, Milwaukee's current outfield options on the team's 40-man roster include Garrett Mitchell, Blake Perkins, Christian Yelich, Tyrone Taylor and Jesse Winker.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller

New York Mets outfielder Tyler Naquin isn't in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday for a matchup with the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Adrian Sampson. The 31-year-old Naquin is batting .243 with a .302 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and four stolen bases in 292 plate appearances this season. Instead, Jeff McNeil will move to right field with Luis Guillorme entering the lineup at second base. McNeil is batting third against Sampson and the Cubs while Guillorme is hitting eighth.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
