Jarred Kelenic Expected To Be Called Up On Thursday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic is expected to be called up on Thursday, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. Passan adds that while things could change, the Mariners' plan is to promote him for the opener of the team's home series against the Indians. The No. 4 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Kelenic has gotten off to a hot start at Triple-A this year, hitting 8-for-18 with two home runs, two steals, five RBI and six runs scored in four games. Kelenic has flashed 20-20 potential in the minors, and he will be the hottest player on the waiver-wire this week. Given the struggles in the Seattle outfield this season, it's not too hard to see Kelenic get significant playing time if he continues to swing a hot bat. Managers should look to acquire him in all formats, as there's a good chance that once Kelenic is in Seattle he could stay there for good.
