Charlie Blackmon Drives In A Pair Of Runs In Saturday's Loss
4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a walk in a 9-8 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday. Blackmon picked up three hits, all singles, in the back-and-forth game. He drove in two runs off of Alex Reyes in the top of the eighth inning to pull the Rockies to within one run but they would ultimately fall short. The veteran outfielder is now rocking a four-game hitting streak and is slashing .360/.429/.480 with one home run and eight RBI over his last 25 at-bats. It's a very welcome sign for Blackmon who had gotten off to a dreadful start this year. The recent hot streak has his season batting line up to .228/.333/.347 with two home runs and 19 RBI over 101 at-bats. There's still room for improvement but it's nice to see him swinging the bat well once again.
