4 years agoTexas Rangers second baseman Nick Solak awoke from a mini-slump on Friday with three hits during the club's 5-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners. The middle infielder had previously been just 3-for-21 (.143) over his past five games. Solak continues to hit too many balls on the ground but he's found his power stroke more consistently this season and hit his fourth double of the season on Friday. He also has seven home runs in 34 games after going deep just twice in 58 games last year. Like many of the Rangers hitters, Solak is a streaky hitter but he's been an excellent fantasy contributor in 2021. His 143 wRC+ leads all second basemen with at least 100 plate appearances.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
