Alex Kirilloff Receives Cortisone Injection In Wrist
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/first baseman Alex Kirilloff (wrist) received a cortisone injection in his sprained right wrist on Friday. Kirilloff sought a second opinion on the injury from Dr. Thomas Graham, who has dealt with the ailment fairly often. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that "sometimes guys can play with the injury and sometimes they can't"- the Twins will be hoping that the cortisone shot allows the talented prospect to do the former rather than the latter. If he manages the issue well, he could return shortly after his 10 days on the injured list are up. If not, Miguel Sano should continue to see plenty of time at first base in Kirilloff's absence- and prospect Trevor Larnach should also see added playing time in the outfield.
