Colts Expect Seamless Transition For Carson Wentz
4 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts made a blockbuster trade to acquire quarterback Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason because they believe in his connection with head coach Frank Reich from their time together in Philadelphia. "I almost see the same thing with Carson here over the first month and a half where it's a pretty seamless transition for Carson just because of his relationship with Frank, who also happens to be the play-caller," general manager Chris Ballard said. After a disastrous 2020 season with the Eagles, the Colts believe they can get the most out of Wentz and turn his career around. Wentz had an MVP-type season in his last year with Reich in 2017. Fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues are hopeful that the reunion with Reich will pay immediate dividends, while those in single-year formats should see him as merely a QB2 with the potential for more.
