4 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Lewis Thorpe pitched well in a spot start despite being charged with the loss. Thorpe tossed five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a pair of strikeouts compared to one walk. The Australian southpaw still hasn't quite found the velocity gains he made in the spring- but that hasn't stopped him from putting together two solid efforts when the Twins have tabbed him as a starter this season. Thorpe isn't about to enter the rotation just yet, but his name could be one of the first to be called if a rotation spot opens up for Minnesota.--Tim Capurso
