Aaron Civale Struggles Monday
4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Aaron Civale pitched 5 2/3 innings while allowing three earned runs, three walks, seven hits, and striking out two in the Indians 8-6 win over the Kansas City Royals Monday night. Civale didn't have his best stuff as noted by the three walks, and he now has 12 walks on the season through his first 39 1/3 innings pitched. He still has a solid 3.20 ERA and 1.04 WHIP on the season and will look to have a better outing this weekend against the in-state rival, Cincinnati Reds.

Aaron Civale To Throw Off A Mound On Saturday
1 week agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Aaron Civale (hamstring), who was placed on the 15-day injured list on Monday with left-hamstring cramping, threw on Tuesday and is scheduled to throw bullpen sessions on Saturday, April 5, and Tuesday, April 8. Civale left his start on Sunday early against the New York Yankees after three innings, and an MRI exam confirmed a mild strain. The 29-year-old isn't dealing with a serious injury at all, but he'll still likely be required to make at least one minor-league rehab start before potentially returning to Milwaukee's starting rotation before the end of April. Civale doesn't move the needle all that much in fantasy due to a below-average strikeout rate, although he did look better with the Brewers at the end of last year and could be useful as back-end rotation depth in deeper fantasy formats.

Aaron Civale Plays Catch On Tuesday
1 week agoDespite landing on the injured list on Monday, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Aaron Civale (hamstring) was able to play catch on Tuesday after his MRI exam revealed only a mild strain of his hamstring. While nothing is set in stone just yet, this news means that Civale should have a chance to return from the IL when he's eligible on Tuesday, April 15. If at all possible, the Brewers would love to have him back in their injury-depleted starting rotation, too. Civale made it only three innings in his first start of 2025 in the Bronx against the New York Yankees on March 30, allowing five earned runs on four hits (three homers allowed) while walking one and striking out two. If the 29-year-old hurler continues to improve quickly, he could even forego a minor-league rehab assignment. Injury aside, Civale has limited fantasy upside due to lack of strikeout stuff.

Aaron Civale Placed On 15-Day Injured List
2 weeks agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Aaron Civale (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a strained hamstring. The 29-year-old was pulled from Sunday's start after three innings of work. Fantasy managers should monitor his status, but should expect him to be sidelined for most of April. Before exiting Sunday's game, Civale allowed four hits and five earned runs across three innings of work. With Civale sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Elvin Rodriguez to remain in the starting rotation going forward. In addition, the Brewers may have to promote a starting pitcher from Triple-A or begin to stretch out their bullpen arms. Civale joins a long list of injuries to Milwaukee's arms, such as Tobias Myers (oblique) and Aaron Ashby (oblique). This could also open the door for top pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski to join the MLB roster.

Aaron Civale Dominates Giants In Shutout Win
7 months agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Aaron Civale was brilliant Thursday, shutting down the San Francisco Giants in a 6-0 victory. Civale allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out seven in this one. Although the results in this one were good, Civale has been mediocre for most of the season, including his time with both Tampa and Milwaukee. He is certainly capable of a dominant start like this one, but he is hard to trust in fantasy given his 4.59 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Consider him a streaming option against easy matchups.
