Travis d'Arnaud Placed On 60-Day IL With Thumb Injury
4 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud (thumb) was placed on the 60-day injured list on Sunday with a left thumb sprain, the team announced on Twitter. d'Arnaud suffered the injury while applying a tag at the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning, and he was immediately replaced by Alex Jackson. David O'Brien of The Athletic reports that d'Arnaud will undergo more tests Sunday, but preliminary examinations after the game Saturday showed that it would be a significant enough injury to land him on the 60-day injured list. Through 22 games this year, d'Arnaud is slashing .215/.250/.342 with two home runs and 11 RBI.
