4 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers selected Georgia tight end Tre' McKitty with the No. 97 overall pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft on Friday night. The Chargers were looking to add another tight end after losing Hunter Henry in free agency. McKitty has strong hands and the ability to make tough catches in traffic and will give impressing young quarterback Justin Herbert yet another weapon in the passing game. Veteran Jared Cook will mostly block McKitty in his rookie season, but if he gets an opportunity at any point, he's one to watch. There is some fantasy intrigue in his future, but McKitty could also use some development. On top of all that, he was one of the best in-line blockers in this year's draft class and should help the running game, if nothing else.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
