Texans Draft Quarterback Davis Mills
4 years agoThe Houston Texans have used the 67th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Stanford quarterback Davis Mills. This was Houston's first pick of this year's draft, so it's telling about the future of Deshaun Watson in Houston that the team started out by going QB. Mills didn't start a lot of games in college, but completed 65.5 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. A lot of the hype around Mills is about projection, as he fits the bill of what a starting NFL quarterback is in terms of his arm strength. Assuming Watson isn't in Houston, Mills will open the 2021 season behind Tyrod Taylor, but he could wind up starting at some point if the Tyrod era doesn't go well for the Texans.
