Shane McClanahan Strikes Out Five In Debut
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan struck out five batters in four innings of work on Thursday in a 3-2 loss to the Athletics. Making his major league debut, McClanahan allowed two runs on five hits and did not factor into the decision. McClanahan has been a strikeout machine through two seasons in the minors, with a career 31.6 percent strikeout rate in 127 2/3 innings of work. After this debut performance and a great Spring Training in which he struck out seven of the 10 batters he faced, McClanahan is a good pitcher to target as a replacement for someone who is injured or underperforming.
