Anthony DeSclafani Throws First Complete-Game Shutout
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani had a night for the ages with a 100-pitch, complete-game outing that helped his team score a 12-0 win against the Colorado Rockies. After starting four games in the month of April playing no more than six full innings in any of them, DeSclafani put on a gem on Monday: nine innings and no runs allowed. DeSclafani couldn't get all batters off the bases surrendering three hits and handing a base on balls, but he also struck out nine hitters, as many as innings he commanded. Second win of the season for DeSclafani, who is now 2-0 with three no-decisions in five games. The ERA is at a strong 1.50 after his CGSO, tied for the lowest mark (John Means) among starters with at least five games and 30 innings pitched through Monday.
