Adam Wainwright Takes Complete-Game Loss On Monday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright took a complete-game loss in Monday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Wainwright pitched all nine innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out eight without issuing a walk. Wainwright got through the whole game with 107 pitches -- 75 for strikes. Both runs scored on solo home runs from Phillies hitters. It was a strong pitching performance from the veteran righty, who unfortunately fell to 0-3 on the season, but he did drop his ERA to 4.08. It's a huge step in the right direction, but unfortunately, these kinds of games have become less frequent for Waino as he nears the end of his career.
