The Tampa Bay Buccaneers exercised their fifth-year option on defensive tackle Vita Vea on Monday, as expected. General manager Jason Licht previously said that it was "safe to say" that the team would pick up Vea's option. Tampa took Vea in the first round in 2018, and he'll remain with the team through the 2022 season. He missed much of last season after fracturing his ankle in Week 5, but he returned in the postseason to help the Buccaneers win a Super Bowl. "He plays a very pivotal role in our defense," said Licht. "When he's in there, a lot of things happen for not just him but everybody else around him." Vea has 73 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 19 QB hits and three passes defensed in 34 regular season games (29 starts) in his three seasons with the Bucs.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
