Eduardo Rodriguez Beats M's In Series Finale
4 years agoBoston Red Sox left-handed ace Eduardo Rodriguez helped the team earn a four-game series split against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday in a 5-3 victory. The Red Sox are now 4-0 in Rodriguez's starts and 10-9 when everyone else starts in 2021. E-Rod struck out eight and scattered six hits and three runs while issuing no walks in seven innings against Seattle. It was the 32nd straight outing in which Rodriguez went at least five innings, dating back to May of 2019. The only two pitchers with a longer current streak in that department are Shane Bieber (37 starts) and Justin Verlander (33). The 28-year-old lefty is looking great after missing all of 2020 due to a heart condition related to COVID-19. Rodriguez has a 3.52 ERA with 26 strikeouts and just two walks over 23 innings. If he continues to show that pinpoint command, he'll remain a high-end fantasy starter.
