Hyun-Jin Ryu Exits Start Early On Sunday
Hyun-Jin Ryu (glute) exited his start on Sunday with a minor right glute strain, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Ryu had looked good before his exit in the fourth inning, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out five in 3 2/3 innings of work. There's no word yet as to whether this will keep Ryu off the mound for any amount of time, but managers should continue to monitor for updates on his condition throughout the day.

Hyun Jin Ryu Could Return To Korea
Hyun Jin Ryu is said to be entertaining an offer from his former Korean Baseball Organization team, the Hanwa Eagles. Ryu pitched for the Eagles from 2006 to 2012 and said that he will finish his career with the team. The 36-year-old veteran southpaw returned from Tommy John surgery last August and went 3-3 with a 3.46 ERA (4.91 FIP) and 1.29 WHIP with 14 walks and only 38 strikeouts in 52 innings in 11 starts down the stretch in his fourth year with the Toronto Blue Jays. His velocity was down, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise coming off Tommy John surgery, but at Ryu's age, he's no longer the strikeout artist he once was. Ryu's changeup also was much more hittable. Heading into his age-37 campaign and likely to head back to Korea, he's off the fantasy radar in 2024.

Hyun Jin Ryu Taking On The Athletics Wednesday
Hyun Jin Ryu is ready for his next start, which will come on Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics. The veteran arm has been lights out since making his season debut on August 1, posting a 2.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and a 3-1 record across 29 innings of work. Still, Ryu's fantasy value is limited in standard formats with the low strikeout numbers and he can be kept on the waiver wire for most of his starts in shallow leagues. The A's are one of the worst teams in baseball offensively, though, so fantasy owners should start Ryu wherever they can.

Hyun Jin Ryu Will Start Tomorrow For The Blue Jays
Hyun Jin Ryu (knee) completed a successful throwing session on Friday and will start in Sunday's series finale against the Chicago Cubs. Ryu was hit on the knee by a comebacker in Monday's start so there was some concern that he wouldn't be available for his next turn. The 36-year-old lefty has a 4.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 5:2 K/BB ratio over nine innings (two starts) so far this year.

Hyun Jin Ryu To Make His Next Start Sunday
Hyun Jin Ryu (knee) is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs. Ryu won't be forced to skip a start after leaving his last outing early on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians when he was hit on the right knee by a comebacker. Fortunately, X-rays came back negative, and the 36-year-old southpaw is feeling good enough to take his next turn in the starting rotation. Ryu has only made two starts for Toronto this year after making a return from Tommy John surgery. In his two starts, he's allowed four earned runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out five in nine innings. He'll continue to be an option for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues the rest of the season, but he has a tricky matchup on Sunday against Chicago.
