Dane Dunning Hits First Rough Patch of 2021
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Dane Dunning struggled with his command on Friday against the Chicago White Sox during the club's 9-7 loss. The rookie right-hander allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks in 2.2 innings of work. On the plus side, Dunning recorded all of his outs on the ground or via the strikeout (two). The rough outing was his first poor start of the year and it was the first game where he's allowed more than one run through four starts. The 26-year-old hurler remains a solid pitching option moving forward despite the one-game blip against one of the better-hitting offenses in the majors. Dunning has a 3.06 ERA with a K-BB of 18-4 in 17 2/3 innings of work.
