Sunday afternoon features the Geico 500 from Talladega Superspeedway. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., William Byron, and Alex Bowman will make up the top five to start the race. Monkey Knife Fight has an extremely easy fantasy point system: 0.1 points for each lap led and then a set amount of points for their position (20 for 1st place, 19 for 2nd place, 18 for 3rd, and so on).

Pick 1: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)
Recommended Prop Pick: Chase Elliott MORE 12.5 Fantasy Points and Ryan Blaney MORE 12.5 Fantasy Points
Elliott and Blaney are projected to be two of the lower fantasy point producers at Talladega and we are fortunate to have both right off the bat but...
Elliott has to feel like winning a race in 2021 is similar to Captain Ahab chasing Moby Dick. He finished second at Martinsville two weeks ago ending up two seconds behind Martin Truex Jr. The Hendrick Motorsports Driver had some bad luck and finished 12th last week at Richmond despite starting third. This week, he starts ninth and could benefit from not starting so close to the front. He has a fast race car and the No. 9 very well may win especially if he lurks in the top-five with fewer than 25 laps to go. The low projection of 12.5 points has us leaning towards that MORE.
For a driver like Ryan Blaney, he has a way of just performing well at Talladega. The Team Penske driver does not always get the headlines of a Joey Logano. However, Blaney has won two of the previous races at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. The No. 12 starts from the seventh position on Sunday. He led 63 of the 191 laps including the three-lap overtime in last Spring's race. Blaney pulled away and held off everyone. to take the checkered flag. Yes, the Hendrick Motorsports drivers have practiced faster but the 27-year-old has far more experience than it seems on the tri-oval. The MORE is again our pick here.
This all boils down to wrecks once more (no weather issues -- afternoon sunshine expected) but these two drivers tend to avoid the latter better than most which are good for the Geico 500.

Pick 2: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)
Recommended Prop Pick: Denny Hamlin MORE 13.5 Fantasy Points, Joey Logano MORE 12.5 Fantasy Points
This prop scares us to death on Sunday because it is Talladega. For those that do not fully appreciate the track for its chaos, wrecks happen at any time from any angle. There is something about this superspeedway that lends to the "Talladega Curse". Look it up sometime. Trust us. There is no such thing as a surefire pick here.
Denny Hamlin and the top-five is the closest thing to a lock considering all of his top-five finishes. He has done everything but win (eight top-five results) and his laps led is a big bonus for such a risky track. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver's tendency to lead (483 laps combined) over the past couple of weeks does make the over a bit easy to stomach even at 13.5 points.
These point totals are low because again the track's reputation proceeds itself. This is different because of the nature of the superspeedway. It boils down to positioning and timing. Joey Logano crashed in the Fall race for example but led 45 laps and 33 laps in the Spring version at Talladega. Two years ago, he finished fourth while again leading more than 30 laps. Logano and Team Penske have a good enough car to lead laps and end up in the top ten. Take the MORE.
