Adam Engel Progressing Towards Return In Early May
4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) still does not have a set timetable, but appears on track for a return to the lineup in early May, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. Manager Tony La Russa said that he doubts Engel will be back in time for any games in April, but he's making progress towards a return in early May. Engel has been on the injured list to start the year while he is recovering from a right hamstring strain, and his return to the lineup will likely mean a decline in the already limited playing time for rookie Andrew Vaughn. He looked solid in Spring Training before he was injured, slashing .278/.278/.667 with three home runs and seven RBI in 14 games. When he returns, he could be worth taking a look at in deep AL-only and deep-mixed leagues.
