Charlie Morton Strikes Out Six Batters In Loss
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Charlie Morton whiffed six New York Yankees batters during a 3-1 loss on Tuesday. The veteran right-hander allowed just one run on three hits — including a Gio Urshela solo homer — and two walks. Known for mixing good stuff with excellent control, Morton threw 64 of 99 hits for strikes (65%) and kept Yankees hitters off-balance for much of the contest. Through four starts in his first season with Atlanta, the 37-year-old hurler has an impressive K-BB of 27-7 through 23 innings of work. Although he has just one win to show for his efforts, Morton remains a strong fantasy option.
