Craig Kimbrel Picks Up Fourth Save
4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his fourth save of the season on Tuesday versus the New York Mets. Kimbrel was rocky during his outing with two walks and he loaded the bases with one out, but got Brandon Nimmo to strikeout and Francisco Lindor to groundout to close the door. It was far from his best performance this season, but he got the job done. Kimbrel has looked like his old self this season and has yet to allow a run in eight innings. He has also recorded 13 strikeouts and issued five walks on the year. Kimbrel is an obvious trade candidate for the Cubs if they decide to sell this season, but he should be a valuable option even if he is dealt to a team that has a closer in place due to his high strikeout rate and ability to help with ratios.
