We have a six-game slate over on FanDuel tonight, and pitching will be at a premium. Thankfully, we're on the better site for such a situation as we only need to roster one hurler on FanDuel.
The slate has a handful of potential blowup spots for offenses as five teams have implied totals north of five runs and there are plenty of pitchers to love bats against. Let's get to it.
I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 4/10/2021. FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:
Chris Paddack - SDP vs. TEX ($6,900)
Texas just got no-hit by Joe Musgrove. Musgrove is a fine pitcher and I don't mean to take anything away from him, but last night's performance was a clear indicator that we have to strongly consider rostering pitchers against this putrid lineup. The season is still very young, but the Rangers are striking out 28.5% of the time and have probably even been overperforming expectations to this point. Paddack only lasted four innings in his debut, striking out three and walking three while allowing two earned. He only gave up four hits before being pulled. He's likely to be stretched out further in this one and he posted strikeout rates between 23-27% in his first two seasons, so we know he has it in him. He has some strikeout upside here and he's got a great chance at the quality start and the win bonus, so fire him up tonight.
Potential Alternate Play
Garrett Richards - BOS vs. BAL ($5,700)
Another cheap play as the targeting-high-priced-hitters strategy looks to be the way to go tonight. Richards had a shaky debut against this same Orioles club as he got tagged for six runs on seven hits over just two innings. However, this is the Orioles we're talking about here. They're sporting the fourth-lowest ISO (.105) and the highest strikeout rate (34.3%) in the MLB, and their wOBA (.262) is just god awful. Richards may be pitching to keep his spot in the rotation in this one, and I expect him to go out there and prove the Red Sox made the right decision by signing him in the offseason. He has posted solid strikeout rates in his last three full seasons (over 25% in each), though he has been marred by injury issues and his ERA and underlying metrics have fluctuated a lot. This is the Orioles, though, so it's reasonable to expect a bounceback performance for him tonight at a very cheap price point.

FanDuel DFS Infielders
Bobby Dalbec - 1B/3B, BOS vs. BAL ($2,100)
Dalbec hasn't done much of anything this year and he has just two hits and walk to his name. That being said, he is barely over minimum salary and in one of the best run-scoring spots of the night against the youngster Bruce Zimmerman. Dalbec hit eight bombs over just 80 at-bats in his debut season last year and has shown some true power potential in the minors. He's a great play even if he's hitting at the bottom of the order tonight.
Freddie Freeman - 1B, ATL vs. PHI ($3,600)
Freeman is a great pay-up option on tonight's slate. I say "pay-up" but he's only at $3,600, so he really doesn't even break the bank at all. The Phillies are tossing out Zach Eflin and while he had a solid debut against this same squad in their first meeting, Freeman will get his chance to avenge going 0-for-2 (with two walks) against him the first time. Eflin's not a pitcher to shy away from.
Cavan Biggio - 2B/3B, TOR vs. LAA ($2,800)
A lot of the Blue Jays look like great plays tonight against Jose Quintana, but Biggio is one of the top plays on the slate. He has posted games of 24.9 and 34.1 FD points in his last five. He's hitting second in a potent Jays' lineup against a vulnerable veteran in Quintana - the upside here is too juicy to pass up on.
Mike Moustakas - 2B/3B, CIN vs. ARI ($3,300)
"Moose" and the Reds offense has been on fire in the early going, posting the highest average, slugging percentage, wOBA, and ISO in the MLB thus far. Moustakas has been raking as he has already has four games with double-digit FD points (including one with 30.9 FD points). The Reds matchup against Riley Smith is a favorable one.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Trent Grisham - OF, SDP vs. TEX ($2,500)
Grisham is insanely cheap and should be hitting leadoff again after going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in his season debut yesterday. The Padres still have a potent offense without Tatis Jr., and they should have no trouble getting to Ranger starter Jordan Lyles.
J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS vs. BAL ($4,000)
Red Sox bats look great tonight against the unproven Zimmerman, and Martinez may be the best option of them all. He has two homers this year and hasn't been below double-digits since the first game of the year. He's raking so far and the Red Sox have one of the higher implied totals on the slate.
Mike Trout – OF, LAA vs. TOR ($4,500)
We're not paying up at pitcher and we're getting steals with Dalbec and Grisham, so why not pay all the way up for Trout? Steven Matz is certainly not a guy to be worried about and Trout has absolutely mashed this season as he's averaging 18.2 FD points per game. 18.2 FD points. Per game. It's obviously very early in the season still, but check out the below graph for a visual on just how bonkers his metrics are.
