Brandon Woodruff Dominant In Second Start
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff was excellent in Wednesday's win over the Cubs. Woodruff pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out eight batters compared to no walks. The ace had a no-hitter until the bottom of the seventh inning when Ian Happ laced a single into right field. Woodruff was tagged with a no-decision due to a blown save by Devin Williams, though it shouldn't overshadow how excellent he was. The 28-year-old right-hander owns an impressive 2.45 ERA with a 13-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 11 innings this season. He'll look to get better run support in a rematch with the Cubs in his next start.
