Ian Kennedy Nails Down Second Save
4 years agoTexas Rangers reliever Ian Kennedy recorded his second save of the season and struck out the side during the club's 2-1 victory on Wednesday. Despite being one of the last players to be named to the opening day roster, the 36-year-old reliever has been an integral part of the club's bullpen. Over three innings, he's allowed three hits and one run but has a K-BB of 6-0. With Jose Leclerc (elbow) out for the season, Kennedy could stick in the role all year long if he continues to pitch well. A long-time starter, the right-hander moved to the bullpen in 2019. Last season, he struggled in the role and posted a 9.00 ERA in 15 games with the Kansas City Royals but maintained a strong K-BB of 15-5 in 14 innings.
