4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers signed former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday. Sudfeld, who was taken in the sixth round by the Washington Football Team in 2016 out of Indiana, has been a backup quarterback in his first three NFL seasons. The 27-year-old appeared in just one game for Philly in 2020, completing five of his 12 attempts for 32 yards and an interception. Sudfeld will function strictly as quarterback depth behind Jimmy Garoppolo in 2021 in his new home. The Niners recently trade up to third overall in this year's draft and are widely expected to select a rookie signal-caller with that selection.
