Josh Allen Not Thrilled With Idea Of Franchise Tag
4 years agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is being patient about a long-term contract, but obviously he'd rather get something done sooner rather than later. General manager Brandon Beane said earlier this offseason that if an extension doesn't come this year, it could happen next offseason. Allen responded with, "Eww" when asked to respond to the word franchise tag. "I don't think it's great for the team, nor the player," the QB expounded. Buffalo would like to avoid the franchise tag if at all possible, and Allen is still under contract for two more years. The Bills will presumably exercise his fifth-year option before next month's deadline. Long-term contract aside, Allen proved in 2020 that he is among the best in the league at his position, making him an easy top-five fantasy QB heading into 2021.
