Ryan Palmer Playing Well Entering Augusta
4 years agoRyan Palmer is having a solid season, making the cut in 11 of 12 starts and notching seven top-25 finishes. This will be his sixth career start at the Masters and first since 2015. His distance has been good off the tee, and he ranks 16th in greens in regulation percentage. He has also been putting well, ranking sixth in birdie or better percentage. Palmer definitely carries some risk considering this his first start at Augusta in six years, but his game appears to be in the right form in order to compete this week.

Ryan Palmer Continues To Struggle With Putter
2 years agoA putting contest is the last place Ryan Palmer wants to be right now. Palmer has been great off the tee and on approach this season, but his short game has been a real struggle. Palmer appeared to be trending in the right direction last month, but the last two events have not been good. In one start at the Rocket Mortgage, Palmer missed the cut and lost 1.5 strokes putting. To compete this week it's going to take a lot of birdies and Palmer just isn't putting well enough right now to be worth a play.

Is It Safe To Start Ryan Palmer In Texas?
2 years agoThe play Ryan Palmer during the Texas tournaments narrative might have made a comeback. In the midst of a rough run of form, Palmer finished T8 at the Byron Nelson two weeks ago. More importantly, he appeared to find something with his putter. After a brutal stretch this season where he's been one of the worst putters on the PGA Tour, Palmer has been nearly neutral on strokes gained in the past two events. His ball-striking continues to be great, so if some putts are falling, he should be in fantasy lineups at $7,200.

Can Ryan Palmer Find His Form In Texas?
2 years agoBy looking at his stats alone, it's hard to play Ryan Palmer this week. Palmer has missed six of 11 cuts this season and hasn't finished inside the top 30. His short game has been a real struggle while he continues to drive the ball well. Palmer is from Texas and finished T5 at TPC Craig Ranch last season, so he could generate some ownership based on that alone. At the Valero Texas Open, however, Palmer missed the cut and is more likely to repeat that than finish in the top five.

Ryan Palmer Building Momentum Heading Into Rocket Mortgage
3 years agoRyan Palmer seems to have found his form heading to the Detroit Golf Club. He has posted back-to-back top-35 finishes, placing 31st at the 3M Open last week and 16th at the Scottish Open. He has been great from the tee box, gaining strokes off the tee in six of his last seven events. Palmer has not played the Rocket Mortgage before, so he does lack course knowledge. However, the Detroit Golf Club has historically played easy, making course history less important. He is a proven PGA Tour winner and will not attract any ownership in DFS despite his affordable price in most formats. Palmer may not be the most intriguing option, but he does provide a lot of upside and an opportunity to roster a reliable player at a low ownership number.
