Fernando Tatis Jr. To Land On Injured List With Shoulder Injury
4 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder) will be placed on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder subluxation, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic. In an update provided by Padres general manager A.J. Preller, Tatis was examined on Tuesday, and while he has some slight labral tearing that is consistent with a shoulder subluxation, Preller said the exam was "uneventful." The Padres are going to go with a rest-and-rehab program with Tatis, and Lin says the team hopes to have him back in 10 days. This is good news for managers who were fearing the worst for the consensus first-round pick in drafts this year. While the news sounds like the Padres are hoping for a quick return for Tatis, managers should plan ahead and target a solid backup shortstop just in case Tatis reinjures his shoulder this year.
