Adrian Morejon Lasts Four Frames In Start
Adrian Morejon took a no-decision after allowing two earned runs in four innings Monday against the San Francisco Giants. The 22-year-old threw 64 pitches, surrendering five hits and a walk while striking out a pair. Morejon's two costly mistakes resulted in a couple of solo homers that accounted for his runs. Despite seven of 15 career appearances coming as starts, Monday was Morejon's longest outing. While his long-term role is uncertain, Morejon is expected to stick in the rotation until starter Dinelson Lamet (biceps) returns. With his ability to toss five frames a serious question mark, Morejon is not a DFS target this Sunday against the Texas Rangers.

Adrian Morejon A Candidate To Join Starting Rotation
Adrian Morejon as a candidate to move from the bullpen to the starting rotation in 2025. Preller also said that right-handed relievers Bryan Hoeing and Stephen Kolek could be options to join the rotation. It will all depend on what the Padres do in free agency and on the trade market before the start of spring training. Morejon is coming off the best year of his career and pitched his way into a high-leverage bullpen role. He had a 2.83 ERA (2.79 FIP) and a 10.0 K/9 in 60 appearances. Staying healthy has been an issue for the southpaw in his career, though, so a move to a starting role wouldn't help his chances at staying on the field. Hoeing was a part-time starter with the Marlins before he was acquired at last summer's trade deadline.

Adrian Morejon Avoids Serious Injury
Adrian Morejon (elbow) was pulled out early during Sunday's game due to elbow discomfort. Luckily, the MRI came back clean, so it appears Morejon isn't dealing with anything too serious. The team is going to treat him for inflammation and create a timetable for him to resume throwing again. There's a decent chance that Morejon opens the season on the injured list. However, it doesn't sound like a long term issue, so the team got lucky there.

Adrian Morejon Removed From Sunday's Contest
Adrian Morejon (elbow) was forced to exit early during Sunday's Cactus League matchup against the Oakland Athletics. The left-hander exited the game due to discomfort in his elbow on his pitching arm. That certainly sounds concerning, but nobody should jump to conclusions. The Padres are likely going to have Morejon undergo further testing. Although, it wouldn't be shocking if the 24-year-old began the 2023 season on the injured list. Fantasy managers will have to check back for more information.

Adrian Morejon Leaves With Arm Discomfort
San Diego Padres southpaw Adrian Morejon (arm) exited Sunday's game against the Oakland A's with arm discomfort. Manager Bob Melvin added that the pain ranges from the back of his arm to above his elbow. The Padres hope it is nothing serious and he can return soon. The 24-year-old-year-old is expecting to receive a heavy workload this coming season, and the Padres are looking to expand his versatility. Morejon composed a 4.24 ERA with 28 strikeouts across 34 innings. He missed a chunk of time due to a plethora of injuries, and the injury bug hasn't left him since turning pro in 2019. If he can stay healthy, Morejon is a threat in almost any situation and hopes to make his return as soon as possible.
