Mark Canha Slugs First Homer Of Season
4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Mark Canha went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Monday. Canha has been batting leadoff this season after the departure of Marcus Semien which significantly increases Canha's fantasy value. He doesn't hit for a strong batting average but he's posted on-base percentages of .387 and .396 in the last two seasons respectively. The veteran outfielder posted an elite 15.2 percent walk rate last season so as long as he is getting on base - he's got a .409 OBP so far this season - expect to see Canha atop the A's lineup which should lead to plenty of run-scoring chances. Canha should be started in 12-team leagues and larger.
