Jordan Holloway Shines In Relief On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie right-handed pitcher Jordan Holloway was called up to the team earlier on Monday and then appeared in Monday evening's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was excellent, pitching two perfect innings with three strikeouts. Holloway was called up when the Marlins placed Garrett Cooper (vaccination side effects) and Elieser Hernandez (bicep) on the injured list. It's unclear who will take Hernandez's place in the starting rotation, but Holloway was working as a starter at the alternate site and was mentioned as a possibility by manager Don Mattingly. Nick Neidert is more likely to make the start next time the rotation spot comes around, but Holloway is worth keeping an eye on as a possible streamer.
