Matt Shoemaker Fans Five In Twins Debut
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker had an impressive debut for his new team in Monday's blowout win over Detroit. Shoemaker allowed one run on three hits with no walks and five strikeouts over six innings of work, earning his first win of the season. The veteran right-hander threw 65 of his 92 pitches for strikes and induced 11 whiffs, seven of them on his splitter. The lone blemish on the day was a solo home run to Wilson Ramos, though it was small potatoes with the massive run support that he got. Shoemaker has struggled to stay on the field in the past- but if he can do so this year, he could be a solid back-end starter for both the Twins and fantasy managers.
