Shohei Ohtani Will Not Play Monday After Collision
Shohei Ohtani will not play in Monday's game, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Ohtani was involved in a collision at the plate when Jose Abreu attempted to score on a dropped third strike, and Ohtani went down to the ground momentarily in pain. Fletcher reports though that Ohtani was not pulled from the game due to injury, and that Ohtani said he is feeling fine apart from some general soreness. Ohtani was spotted rushing back onto the field at the end of the game to celebrate Jared Walsh's walk-off home run, so it appears he is likely OK, although he will be evaluated on Monday. The Angels are likely just wanting to protect the oft-injured two-way star, so Ohtani should hopefully be back in the lineup within the next game or two.

Shohei Ohtani Resumes Throwing Off The Mound
Shohei Ohtani (elbow) threw his first bullpen session last Saturday since going on paternity leave last week. Ohtani threw 31 pitches, according to manager Dave Roberts, and is still only throwing four-seamers, two-seamers and splitters. He will not face live hitters until he begins working in all of his pitches. But Roberts said that Ohtani is expected to resume throwing light side sessions on Wednesdays, followed by a full bullpen every Saturday. The timeline for the 30-year-old to return to the mound remains indefinite, although the Dodgers had previously been aiming for sometime in May. He's recovering from a right UCL repair he had in September of 2023, and he didn't have a full offseason to build up on the mound due to left-labrum surgery last November. Ohtani will likely be eased into a starting role when he eventually returns as a pitcher, but he'll be fantasy relevant in all leagues.

Shohei Ohtani Steals Bag, Homers In Rout Of Marlins
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in his team's 15-2 victory over the Miami Marlins. He added a walk, two strikeouts, and two runs scored. Ohtani blasted a 114.1 MPH solo shot to lead off the bottom of the first inning -- qualifying for his hardest hit ball of the season thus far. It was also the first time he hit a home run and stole a base in the same game this year, as he's started to pick it up in recent days. The superstar slugger is riding a four-game hit streak in which he's 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple), three steals, and six runs scored. Ohtani has driven in just ten runs on the campaign, but he leads the league with 29 runs scored in 28 games.

Shohei Ohtani Walks Three Times Monday Against Miami
Shohei Ohtani singled, stole a base, and came around to score in the first inning against the Marlins on Monday, but he didn't get much to hit for the rest of the game. He walked three times and struck out in his other at-bat to finish 1-for-2 with three walks, a run scored, and his seventh stolen base of the season. Ohtani is hitting .290 on the season with six home runs, a .243 ISO, a .399 wOBA, and 27 runs scored, which is just one behind the MLB lead held by Brice Turang. Ohtani is doing a great job as the Dodgers' leadoff hitter, even if his power numbers are slightly down, since he constantly is getting on base and creating scoring chances.
