Chris Martin Exits Sunday's Game Early
4 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Chris Martin recorded just two outs in the eighth inning before exiting the game after he said he felt something in his fingers, according to The Athletic's David O'Brien. Martin is one of the top, late-inning relievers in Atlanta's bullpen, and he is coming off a strong Spring Training in which he struck out six of the nine batters he faced in three perfect innings of work. He figured to be the next guy in line for save opportunities behind Will Smith, and is a valuable, high-strikeout reliever in SV/HLD leagues. Manager Brian Snitker said he has not heard any update from the trainers on the condition of Martin, but it is not looking good at the moment for him.
