Nationals GM Says Team Plans To Play Braves Monday
4 years agoWashington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said that the team plans to play the Atlanta Braves on Monday, according to The Athletic's Britt Ghiroli. The team has four positive COVID-19 cases and five players who are also under quarantine at the moment that will not be eligible for Monday's matchup, and Max Scherzer is currently the assumed starter for Washington. Due to privacy guidelines, we still do not know who has been affected by this outbreak, so managers will need to watch closely for lineup updates on Monday to see which Nationals starters will be playing. All that being said, it is worth noting that Rizzo had previously said the team intended to be ready for Opening Day less than 24 hours before the game was postponed, and now the entire series with the Mets has been postponed.
