Keston Hiura Goes 0-For-5 On Opening Day
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Keston Hiura struggled in his 2021 debut, finishing 0-for-5 with two strikeouts and a run scored in a 6-5 victory over the Twins. Hiura struck out in two of his first three plate appearances, and only got on base by a fielder's choice in a ninth-inning comeback by Milwaukee. It was not the start managers were hoping for, as Hiura comes off a down year in 2020 in which he slashed .212/.297/.410 in 59 games. It's just one game though, so it's not time to sound the alarm yet, and hopefully Hiura will look better at the plate in Game 2.
